Emelia (Bark) Kleist

Passes Away Here Monday Afternoon Mrs. Emelia Kleist, wife of Herman F. Kleist, passed away on Monday afternoon at her home, Route 2, Sheboygan, after a lingering illness. She was born in Brandenburg, Germany, the daughter of Frank and Matilda Bark, on July 10, 1872. At the age of nine she came to this country with her parents. The family settled in Chicago and after eight years there came to Town Sheboygan. Mrs. Kleist has lived here ever since. On July 26, 1900, she married Herman F. Kleist. The deceased was a faithful member of the Zion Reformed church. Among the survivors are her husband, and two children, Mrs. Albert Haack of Sheboygan and Carl Kleist of Milwaukee, and one sister, Miss Mary Bark of Route 1, Sheboygan. Four grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the Ballhorn Funeral chapels and at 2 o'clock at the Zion Reformed church. The Rev. E. H. Wessler will officiate and burial will be made in the Wildwood cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Wednesday afternoon until the time of services. |
