Roman J. Federer

Roman J. Federer, 55, of 1219 Kentucky Ave., died at his home Tuesday evening.

He was born in Sheboygan, March 9, 1928, a son of Roman and Agnes Gandre [sic] Federer. He attended Holy Name Catholic School and was a 1946 graduate of North High School.

He served in the U.S. Army from November 1950 to November 1951.

On Aug. 16, 1956, he married LaVerne Leining at Waukegan, Ill.

Mr. Federer was a carpenter for the Sheboygan Area School District from 1974 to December 1982, when he retired due to ill health.

He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and was financial secretary of Local 657 of the Carpenters and Joiners Union for 10 years until retiring in February 1983.

Survivors are his mother of Sheboygan; his wife; and two sons, Michael and Robert, both of Sheboygan. He was preceded by his father and an infant son.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home. The Rev. Patrick Heppe, associate pastor of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:30 p.m. Thursday. A parish and Catholic Order of Foresters Bible wake will be held there at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Federer's name.
