Mrs. Hettie Ward Love, 94, of Route 1, Sugar Gove, died Thursday evening, Dec. 20, at Watauga County Hospital.

She was born May 6, 1896, in Sugar Grove, a daughter of the late Lorenzo Dow and Jane Presnell Ward. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was a housewife.

Survivors include one daughter, Rosa Love Glenn of Sugar Grove, and two sisters, Dott Ward Gryder of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Jeannie Ward Tester of Tallahassee, Fla. Eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. William J. Love, a daughter, Mrs. Retha Harmon Greene, and four brothers and four sisters.

Services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Carl Wilson and Rev. Quincy Norris. Burial followed in the Ward Cemetery.

Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Directors in Boone were in charge of the arrangements.
